Our main farm dam is situated just below Coots Cottage.  Take a stroll to the waters edge for some Largemouth Bass fishing or a gentle row on the dam.

Galileo is well placed for easy access to world-class mountain biking for everyone from novices to professionals. Peddle around the farm with the family or challenge yourself to single-track or downhill adventures. The Elgin Valley has four fully marked mountain bike trails. These snake through various farms, the Lebanon Forest Reserve and the Kogelberg biosphere along roads, 4X4 routes, orchards, oak lined avenues, wooded areas, dams and streams.

Twitchers will be pleased to know that Galielo Guest Farm and the greater Elgin Valley area is home to a rich array of bird life. We have resident Fish Eagles and numerous raptor species that hunt in the area. There are also flocks of Guinea fowl, Francolin and occasionally one can flush from the fynbos a rare African Button Quail. Our waterfowl include Spurwing and Egyptian Geese, Yellow-billed and African Black Duck and many others. We are also fortunate to have Giant, Pied and Malachite Kingfishers, Red-billed Coots, Grey Heron and numerous other bird species.
